John C. Schumacher, Ph.D., President and CEO
John Schumacher Ph.D. (President/CEO) is known throughout the world as the innovator/entrepreneur that was the driving force behind J.C. Schumacher Company (now known as simply Schumacher), the leading supplier of high purity chemicals and equipment to the semiconductor industry. Dr. Schumacher is also known throughout the solar industry as the designer and developer of the Schumacher Silicon Process. With over 35 years experience as the CEO of successful companies such as J.C. Schumacher Company, John is uniquely well suited to head Peak Sun’s commercialization of the Schumacher process for making polysilicon for the solar industry. Dr. Schumacher holds a B.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Stanford University, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Materials Science/Metal Surface Physics from Stanford University. Dr. Schumacher has been awarded more than 40 patents and developed more than 30 commercially successful products during his career. Prior to launching his entrepreneurial career, Dr. Schumacher served as project manager on the Polaris and Sergeant missile projects at Lockheed and Cal Tech’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
