Granular Feedstock

Strong, long-term demand for solar electricity (SE) is building worldwide. The industry is growing at 40 to 50 percent per year, but cost and raw material shortages are limiting the world’s supply of this major source of renewable energy. Solar electricity is becoming increasingly competitive for both end-use consumers and electric utilities. But a critical raw material for the manufacture of SE-generating equipment is in short supply—polycrystalline silicon.

Peak Sun Silicon is in business to solve this problem. Peak Sun’s unique tribromosilane-based, fluid-bed polysilicon meets all the requirements for mass deployment of solar electricity. Our high purity product delivers high conversion efficiency of sunlight directly into electricity. This means better performance of your solar cells and panels.

Peak Sun uses a continuous-manufacturing process that operates at near atmospheric pressure and lower temperatures than competitive processes, and energy costs are reduced by approximately 80 percent over competitive manufacturing processes. Further, Peak Sun Silicon polysilicon is delivered in dense spherical-bead form with uniform particle size. These qualities make it the ideal feedstock for the continuous substrate manufacturing processes essential for rapid SE capacity expansion and cost reduction.

Phosphorus Oxychloride (POCl3)

Peak Sun Silicon manufactures and distributes high purity Phosphorus Oxychloride (POCl3) a liquid Phosphorus used as an N-Type dopant for silicon wafers used in the solar industry. Peak Sun's POCl3 process has been built from the ground up to fulfill the high purity needs of solar cell manufacturers.
